One of the biggest dreams of my life was a Gary Moore concert in Greece.

Well, dreams come true if you chase them. After many years of pressure (via this site) to the local promoters and to the official site, it happened on Saturday 13/09/08. As everybody can understand, my emotions ran very high all these months. The expectation of a dream to come true is not something simple. And the feelings after that, are strange... happiness and sorrow together...

The show was spectacular! Gary in great form and mood and so was the audience. The screams "Gary, Gary, Gary!!!" were something unique for such concerts and the applause was huge after each song. Gary seemed to enjoy his first gig in Athens. His playing was magical, his guitar tone incredible (didn't use a Marshall DSL100) and his voice at high levels.

Gary, you are the best!! I feel so proud that this man is my hero...

GARY MOORE live in Athens- Saturday 13/09/2008 - Backstage

I would not miss the chance to meet Gary for nothing! So, I arranged for me and other 5 fans a meeting with our idol at the backstage of the venue. Well, Gary was in a great mood after such a successfull gig and he kept saying about "the great audience" he faced. We gave him a gift, a traditional Greek instrument, called Tzouras, which was used by musicians in Rebetika music, well known as the "Greek blues" , because of the lyrics similarity with the American blues.

Gary didn' t stop making jokes and remembered us once again from our visits to Dublin and London. We talked about this website, our Thin Lizzy tribute band and seemed to be interested in it. You can see some of our photos, notice the smile on his face! I feel so proud that Greece made him smile so much! He said he 'll come again in Greece, we won't forget it!
